Disc I - Solo Marimba Improvisations (perfomed by Pedro Carneiro, tracks-9)

Disc 2 - Transgressions by V/A (tracks 10-18)

Stephan Mathieu, Chris Brown, Convolution Brothers, Ralf Wehowsky,Cristian Vogel,André Sier, Chris Brown, João Pedro Oliveira, Ivan Fanco and Brandon Labelle.

Hacking and beyond... Xenakis created UPIC-a machine, table-like, where one's drawings became sound. He opened a window for those who dreamt of making their gestures soundscapes... new musicians followed, with fresh ideas. Not only classically trained musicians discovering electronics, but musicians from different backgrounds: the list is extensive.

SIRR experimental approach inspired me to go as radical as possible and end up with a disc where I had no control whatsoever over the final result (and this is somewhat related to my previous collaborations with visual artist Leonel Moura, who authors the text above and who invented the mbots, self-sufficient artist robots, creating their very own paitings). A disc on which I would record solo improvisations, dedicated to specific sound artists. These improvisations, recorded with tonmeister Eduardo Sousa (whom I trusted the task of capturing myself, the space and the instrument in the most intimate way possible), would be sent to the artists afterwards, with a note: "please hack me". Basically, hacking my improvisation (itself a personal token) in every way they wish.

note:
"The Convolution Brothers were recently overjoyed to learn that Pedro Carneiro, an excellent chef who especializes in Marimba, had invited them to a taste test of one of his newest creations. Recently, on a balmy spring day, the Brothers sat down to what proved to be a highly unusual treat.
Mr. Carneiro's Marimba, which he serves on a special table resembling an ironing board, is an enormous meal. The meat turns out to be surprisingly tough. Mr. Carneiro has made the courageous choice of serving it with little or no additional seasoning (although CB #1 thought it needed ketchup, which he slathered liberally over his portion.
The Marimba is eaten with four utensils resembling chopsticks with one enlarged end, which prevents them from sliding between the hard, dark brown morsels of Marimba. The Marimba was, nonetheless, difficult to eat. The pieces are rather heavy for picking up with chopsticks, and since they are too large to fit comfortably in the mouth, it is necessary to bite off pieces while still holding the remainder between the sticks.
CB #0 had some trouble chewing his portion, but this was not a problem for CB #1, whose technique was to lick off the ketchup (some of which landed on his shirt; next time perhaps he'll ask for a napkin.CB #2 could not participate in the tasting. Regrettably, he had a dentist appointment."

This is the final result: hacking-taking matter and ripping it apart, reconstructing debris, memories, fading dreams... chaos, order... sonic poems.
