"Beyond… not even the silent attestation of the being-placed-there of stones remains truly beyond music: still, already, there is the rustling of the world, the grating, crackling, background noise, the noise without noise, or, rather, even simply, the mineral stupor that is still the surprise of the world. "Along the edge of" is based on intervals in just tuning tuning (5-limit, 7-limit and harmonics with D as the fundamental). It is also a refection on resonance, by means of feedback techniques, from my personal ongoing artistic process with modular synthesizers.

Jose Luis Maire works mainly with modular synthesizers. Central to his work is the study of acoustic phenomena and non-tempered proportions (primarily, just intonation tuning), as well as the use of the synthesizer as an instrument of reverberation and feedback. He has performed at experimental music festivals such as ERTZ, SONIKAS, Zarata Fest, Encuentros Sonoros, CALMA and exhibition sales and museums such as CRUCE, Tabacalera (Madrid), the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University, the Daoíz y Velarde Cultural Centre, Cráter-LAB and Tabakalera (Donostia).
